And so it is done!!! I officially completed my challenge to run 1000 miles this morning at Meadowmill parkrun! I am truly delighted to get to this point and am hugely grateful for everyone who has supported me along the way! 😍😍
So the big news is I am nearly there!! I will be celebrating the 1000 mile at Meadowmill Parkrun next Saturday morning – with friends, family and wonderful staff at Home-Start East Lothian supporting me in the final mile both by volunteering and/or running on the day!
So if your free next Saturday at 9.30am and ever wondered what parkrun was all about come along and join in and help me celebrate completing my challenge 😍🏃🏻♀️👍
This mornings run took me over the 900 mile mark – am delighted to say I’m nearly there!
It’s been an amazing journey so far but it would be awesome if I could smash my fundraising targets too – so if you can please consider donating – either online or I have a sponsor form!
Thanks to everyone for there continued support 😍😍
Over the past few weeks I have been steadily building the miles to help reach my 1000 mile target!
Today is my birthday and what better way to celebrate than for my birthday run to take me over the 850 mile mark! Getting closer every day to target!
So this weekend has seen me go over the 750 mile mark – most of my runs are for Home-Start however today I swapped my orange T-shirt to pink to run the Race for Life to raise money and awareness for cancer research – we have all sadly been touched by cancer in some way – so today’s run was to remember all those special people who have lost their fight – but also to give strength to all those who are still fighting 💜💜💜💜💜
As this week is National Volunteers Week I am dedicating this mornings run – which just happens to be my 100 run of the year (taking me to 657 miles) to all the wonderful volunteers out there!
Home-Start East Lothian would not exist without all our amazing volunteers – and we thank you all from the bottom of our hearts! 💕💕 But I also salute ALL the amazing people who volunteer each week in so many different ways!
The gift of time – and the ability to give your time to help others is the greatest gift you can give and/or receive!
So to each and everyone of you – today’s 13 mile run was for you! 😍😍😍
So today I went back to my routes and ran the Edinburgh Marathon 10k – which was the first official run I did back in 2016 – today I knocked 8 minutes of that original time and finished 15th in my age category!!! Proof hard work and dedication pays off!! Now at 632 miles and counting…
Today my 500 mile medal finally arrived!! Very proud of this one and will look forward to getting the matching 1000 mile medal by the end of the year!
Today’s East Lothian Courier featured an article on my 500 mile challenge – delighted to share my 5 minutes of fame for Home-Start East Lothian!
So this is what 500 buttons in the jar looks like!!…. Think there might be room for some more?!?! #500more
